Hattiesburg NearVision CK®(Post-Operative Care)
Same-Day Instructions - Take a Tylenol PM immediately when you get home.
- Eat a light meal so you can go to sleep.
- You will be given a kit with your eye meds in it. Put in a drop or two of your antibiotic, Voltaren, and artificial tears.
- Put a gel ice pack gently on the eye. Go to sleep, the eye will scratch as long as you are awake.
- If you wake up, use more drops and a Tylenol PM if you need it. Expect the eye to be tender.

Next-Day Instructions - The next day alternate a drop of antibiotic and a drop of artificial tears each hour while you are awake.
- Use your Voltaren drops four times per day.
- If the eye is scratchy you are feeling the lid rub against the tender treated area. If you close the eye and keep the eye still you usually will feel better.
- We will then check you at a time to be specified the day of your procedure.- You may go to work or do anything you feel up to.
- Expect it to be blurry. You may not see well enough to drive. It takes time to heal.
- As a precaution, it's best to wear no makeup around the eye or put your head under water such as hot tub or swimming for about a week.
- Avoid rubbing your eyes.
- You may take 2 Advil tabs every 2 hours as needed for discomfort during the day.
You Should Expect: - Mild to moderate, watering and irritation for 2-3 days.
- Smeary vision (like dirty glasses) for about 1 month.
- Glare or halos, especially when driving at night, for about 1 month.
- Slight overcorrection for a few weeks. Distant object may appear blurry, but near objects will be clear.
